How to Lose Weight with Yoga...Avoid the #1 Mistake that Might be Keeping You Stuck.

wellness yoga Jan 01, 2020

I'm not a weight loss coach and I believe in loving yourself and your body, right now, exactly as you are.

So why am I writing a blog post about weight loss?

Because, when I truly started loving my body with nourishing food, yoga, and exercise, I came into balance; losing 12 pounds was a big part of my journey.

My students began asking me how I dropped the extra weight and got such nice sculpted arms!

I'm not gonna lie, I love those compliments but even more than that, I have so much more energy and I feel great.

I found myself telling my students the exact steps I took to get my body back and those conversations led to the creation of my upcoming free training,  3 Steps to Your Strong, Flexible, Vibrant Body

This is the yoga we don't have time to teach in a yoga class.

Yoga is the study of balance, it's the union of body, mind, heart, and Soul.  Eating a balanced diet and getting exercise is yoga.  Meditation is yoga.

So, yep, I'm writing about weight loss and revealing the #1 mistake I see women make that keep them from being fit, free, and feeling fabulous and how you can avoid it.

Are you ready?

Can I get a drum roll please...da da da da da da...

The #1 Mistake women make when trying to lose weight is...

Not having a plan and not taking time to get prepared.

Ben and Alexander said it best...

"If you fail to prepare, you're preparing to fail."  Benjamin Franklin

"Above all else, preparation is the key to success."  Alexander Graham Bell

This is especially true when it comes to getting fit and healthy.

You need a plan that starts with

  • a grocery list,
  • a trip to the store
  • a general idea of what you'll be having for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Your plan should include substitutes for your sweet and/or savory treats.  You know, the late afternoon chocolate, the cookie-coffee combo, the chips or cheese and crackers. Not to mention, the glass of wine at night.

Oh Ya, we need a plan!

Personally, I've always been a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl and planning was never my strong suit.  I mean who has the time, right?

Let's just do it!

But in order to "just do it"  you've got to have what you need.  You need those crisp crunchy carrots cleaned, cut, and ready to grab from the fridge.

You need lots of veggies to cook up with your eggs so you can skip the toast.

You need to think about what you're going to do at wine o'clock or the chocolate hour!

To help you with all of this and save you a ton of time, I created The Ulitmate Healthy Habit Starter Plan and I'm giving it away in my free training.

The other area I see women get stuck is trying to out exercise a bad diet and having an "all or nothing" mind-set.

Change is more likely and lasting when you take one small step in the direction you want to go.

This path isn't really about weight loss it's about embodying health and wellness.

Ask yourself..."What one small step can I take to move toward balance and take care of my body today?"

It could be as simple and easy as, Today I'm going to drink more water, and then go grab a big glass of filtered water and feel your body appreciating this hydration.

I'd love to support you in rocking 2020 and making this your best year in your best body!
